Alexander Vlassenkov has been teaching and playing guitar internationally for over 35 years. He has earned two Master's Degrees in Music Performance and Guitar Teaching: one from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London, UK, and one from the State Academy of Music in Minsk, Belarus. Alex has been trained and certified in Suzuki Guitar method with David Madsen, Frank Longay, and Mary Lou Roberts at the Hartt Music School in Hartford, CT.
Alex believes that there are three key words: Practicing, Patience, and Persistence, which make studying guitar successful. By practicing correctly and regularly, we learn and reinforce new skills. Patience helps us to take small steps in learning, and practice them at a slow tempo. Persistence allows us to continue practicing in spite of any difficulties.
Currently Alex teaches guitar at Neighborhood Music School in New Haven, CT, offering private lessons, and ensemble classes to students of all ages and all levels.
Along with performing guitar recitals, Alex has been playing background Classical, Jazz, and Pop guitar music for special events, including: Wedding Ceremonies, Cocktail Hours, Parties, Art Gallery Openings, Dinners, Celebrations, Receptions, Corporate Functions, Worship Services, etc.
